1. Little Logistics

Water & Rail logistics mod for Minecraft Forge, adds Tugs and Locomotives!

Little Logistics is a mod for Minecraft Forge focused on efficient, affordable, long-distance transport. This guide does not cover recipes, to check item recipes use JEI or a similar mod.

Vessels are the core of this mod. There are two types of vessels: Barges (that can do all sorts of useful things), and Tugs (that drag the barges). If vessels get stuck, they can be moved slightly using fishing rods (just like other entities). Tugs can also be dragged with leads, right click on the hook at the back of the boat to attach.

Transport your items and fluids, or fish automatically using any existing natural waterways or create your own!

Small trains that can be linked together and transport items and fluids. Equipped with pathfinding and collision avoidance AI. Just pick your destinations and switch tracks will adjust automagically!

Mod compatibility issues

Canary mod (lithium port)

Causes issues with hoppers. Add mixin.block.hopper=false line to canary.properties file to fix the issue.

Optifine

Optifine will break chunkloader barges/cars (1.16, 1.18) or vehicle registration (1.19+). This issue only happens in singleplayer, and several users have reported that disabling "smooth world loading" and "lazy chunk loading" fixes this issue.

Small Ships mod

Having boats from Small Ships close to tugs may break their AI. To avoid this keep your Small Ships boats few chunks away or disable WaterMobFlee in Small Ships config.

Modern UI mod

May break tug route item GUI, disabling "smooth scrolling" in the settings resolves this issue.

2. Cloud Storage

Many people have heard of Cloud Storage, but many believe that it involves computers and servers and other smart people stuff. In reality, and in this mod, Cloud Storage involves tying a chest, barrel or other inventory to a balloon and sending it up to the cloud. Why? So you can access its inventory from your home, without the need of a complicated network of meteorite-sourced crystals, something you traded with elves through a portal, or even a gigantic chest.

This mod is an easy to use solution to the storage problem. Rather than gating our nearly-endless storage systems behind tech mod stuff or endgame content, most of it can be easily crafted from new items dropped by new mobs that shouldn't be much of a challenge to defeat by most players. Although storage is the main reason you'd play with this mod, there is additional content added such as new foods, pets, blocks, mechanics, music disc etc. that are all thoroughly polished and fit the theme and aesthetic of both the mod and Minecraft itself.

3. Microcosm

Microcosm is a mod that provides numerous blocks that provide or manipulate resources in the form of small block sized buildings that can level up as they work. It also includes decorative blocks to create you're own Micro Village.  This mod is in Active Development and updates providing new blocks and features come frequently eventually.  If you'd like to provide feedback, ask questions, or make suggestions for new blocks.

Farming:  farms can share fields.  The more of a certain seed item in the designated slot sets how likely that crop is to be harvested.  Beehives, besides providing honey bottles, also will slightly increase field growth rates in a small radius around them.  Connected Wells and Middens increase rates as well.  Silos hold a LOT of resources.  Farmhouses can also share a singular midden between them. Paths will connect the well's water source to the farm house if you want to place the well farther away.  one well can supply multiple farmhouses this way.

Mining: you can place multiple of an item in the focus slot of the mine.  the bigger the stack the bigger the multiplier for that specific resource.  So while the mining chance for an emerald is very low it can be increased with a full stack of emeralds but it will still be fairly low.  while a full stack of coal or iron will multiply their already high chance.

Smelters: Rate and Amount of ore increases with the level of the smelter.  It may be a good idea to only have one smeltery handle multiple mines to increase it's level up rate.  Gold smelts faster than iron so setting gold ore as the focus for one or more mines can increase XP gains.

Forestry: Forester huts replant harvested groves faster than lumberjacks and have a larger radius per level so plan your layouts accordingly.  Forester huts only find one resource at a time and it can change everytime they go out and forage.  As they do not have extra storage, hoppers or transport pipes are useful to get the most from them.

Lumberjacks: Set the desired log you want harvested in the target slot.  If you wait till they 'tick' it will convert all current logs in inventory to that type.

Hunters: They will not travel to the Nether or to the End but they can be convinced to take a break and go fishing.

Seekers: These towers are only (currently) useful if you have other mods that utilize Curios.

Work Orders and Destination Orders: if you hold them in your hand particles will appear over the building they are linked to.  Also they can work at any distance in the same dimension as long as both chunks are loaded.

Decorative: if you right click an empty plot with a sapling it will turn into a harvested grove and will eventually grow into a full grove.  A Leaf block will plant a singular decorative only small tree, and a Flint will make it an empty plot with a rock in it.

All Microcosm tiles are "transparent" so you can place a light source under them to light them up.

Empty and decorative plots can be rotated with an empty hand.

Quarrys: provide stones but if a grindstone is placed near one it will provide cobblestone, gravel, and sand.

4. Shrink.

Shrink is a small mod for Minecraft that allows players to change their player's size.

Shrinking to a smaller size allows the player to access places that they could normally not access without breaking blocks.

This mod adds a single item called a Personal Shrinking Device, Shift-right clicking this item will cause your player to shrink down to about the size of a quarter of a block.

The Personal Shrinking Device requires power for any RF/Forge Energy source, This can be disabled in the config file.

5. Butcher's Delight

This is a mod that complements animal processing by increasing the meat production of each peaceful creature.

instructions:

chickens on any flat surface.

if a cleaver/knife is used, more parts will be extracted.

  • Ski Sticks (you are much faster when you hold one in your mainhand and offhand)
  • Snow Shovel (break a 3x3 area of snow at once)
  • Dyeable Pullovers (to keep you warm)

7. Luggage

A simple mod to recreate the Luggage entity from OpenBlocks in modern MC versions.

Just like in OpenBlocks, Luggage follows you around and picks up items on the ground and storing them in its inventory. You can open its inventory by right clicking it.

Shift right clicking the Luggage will allow you to pick up the entity as an item, allowing you to easily store them away. The inventory, charged state, and name are saved in the item.

Luggage is immortal, so you don't have to worry about losing your items.

If your Luggage gets struck by lightning in some way, it will become charged and double its inventory space. This change is reflected in the texture for both the entity and the item.

Is your Luggage not following you anymore? Did you lose track of where your Luggage ran off to, and it won't teleport back to you? Did it get stuck down in a deep cave and you can't easily retrieve it? Well, look no further than the whistling function! Simply press the whistle key, (bound to ` by default) and as long as Luggage is in loaded chunks, it will teleport back to you.
